Coaching FAQs

What is Life Coaching?
Coaching is having an experienced professional who partners with you to:
Create and achieve new goals that will address the issues you’re most
concerned with.
Help you prioritize those goals so that you know where and when to focus
your energy.
Collaborates with you to make a plan to reach those goals, and provides
mentorship while you’re on your way to reaching them.
Works with you to define the definition of “success” for each goal so that
you truly know what success is when you’ve reached it, or provides a
check and balance system if in fact you need to work further on an issue.
Celebrates your successes with you and recognizes your achievements.

How does Life Coaching differ from therapy?
Unlike therapy, Coaching is not geared toward getting at the “heart” of emotional disturbances and working them out.  It does, however, touch on issues that can
be holding you back.  If issues are of a serious nature, therapy would be more
appropriate. Coaching can also be combined with therapy while working toward
non-therapy goals.

Is it possible to work towards more than one goal at a time?
Yes, it is.  For example, let’s say that your priority goal is to get a better job, but
you are also having problems in a relationship and want to resolve them.  The
relationship problem is also addressed because it affects you, but it’s secondary
to your priority goal of getting a better job.

Is it necessary to commit to an extended time period to get results?
My methods don't require commitments in all areas. Some people need one
session for a specific issue or question; others seek a series of sessions to
address larger issues or themes in their lives.

How do I structure my time with a Life Coach?
Life Coaching be structured on either an hourly basis, or by retaining an amount
of time that is spread out over a period of one month, or longer.  It allows you to
have small increments of time available to you to use for the many issues that
come up every week in most lives.

Do I need to have sessions in person?
No, most coaching sessions are done by phone.  I prefer to meet my clients in
person for the initial assessment.  At that time we’ll determine together what
works best for you.

Do you have workshops?
Yes, please see the Services page.
